As Sokoto stood still for Wamakko, Aliyu, APC- Bashir Rabe Mani

It could be recalled that, the Supreme Court had on Monday, January 20,2020  dismissed the Appeal filed before it by Ahmed Aliyu and the Party , hinging its action on alleged lack in merit. The Court only viciously consented to the injustice meted to the Appelants at the doubtful lower Courts .

The Sokoto appeal read by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, the apex court dismissed the submissions by Ahmed Aliyu of the APC that Tambuwal’s election was invalid by reason of non-compliance with the Electoral Act and INEC Guidelines for Elections, and that the lower courts were wrong to discountenance the exhibits tendered to show over-voting and other irregularities in the March 9 and 23, 2019 elections.

Justice Abba-Aji said Aliyu and APC failed to link the exhibits to the foundation of their case, adding that,  the court “is not to go on a voyage of discovery.”

The Judgment on the justified Appeal filed before it by the All Progressives Congress  ( APC), Gubernatorial Candidate in the 2019 Governorship and Supplementary polls has indeed left more questions than answers . The obnoxious mis (judgment), has left many democratic lovers agaped.  Many a Nigerians have wondered why such a Judgment was dished out from the nation’s Apex Court.  It has indeed led to a myriad of misgivings about the nation’s Judiciary . As many Judicial Pundits have observed , the Judgment in question tantamount only to a ” judgment and NOT justice.”

As a famous leadership qoute goes, ” If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” “Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower. Do not follow where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” Our Amiable,  Iconic , Patriot , Pious and Legendary Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko,  is indeed a true leader . This undeniable and indisputable fact was attested to by the deluge of accolades and messages of solidarity moments after the much unexpected judgment of the Supreme Court in Abuja.

All those who showed solidarity to the Man of the People , Ahmed Aliyu and the APC,  have also happily renewed their unflinching loyalty and tremendous confidence in the dexterity and agility of Senator Wamakko.  They averred he is still their leader , wherever he goes and whatever he does . This is really soothing and heart warming . The people of the state in their large numbers capped this solidarity on Wednesday , January 22,2020, and successfully rallied in support of Senator Wamakko,  Ahmed Aliyu , APC and all those behind the success stories of the party .

 On that epoch-making day, it was a Sea of heads in Sokoto as a mammoth crowd of multitude of supporters of the All Progressives Congress  ( APC), defied the harsh , chilly weather and thronged the Seat of the Caliphate to welcome the Leader of the Party in the State and North West , Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and his high powered entourage from Abuja.

Others on the entourage of the Chairman, Senate Committee on Defence and Deputy Chairman,  Senate Committee on Anti Corruption,  were the Minister of Police Affairs and Chairman, Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari,  the former Transport Minister and Director -General , Gubernatorial Campaign Council , APC Gubernatorial Candidate,  Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, his running mate, Alhaji Faruku Malami Yabo and the State APC Chairman , Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida, among several other thousands of jubilant faithful of the Party.

Addressing the elated crowd , Senator Wamakko urged the members urged the members of the party and the entire people of the State to continue to remain peaceful, united and fervently prayerful.While showing gratitude to the Almighty Allah,  Senator Wamakko also expressed delight with the massive support and love the people of the state were showing to him and the APC.

He added, ” As Muslims, we believe in God and we have accepted what happened to us in good faith .”Senator Wamakko further admonished the people of the state to come out and massively vote for the candidates of the party during next Saturday’s bye elections .

Also speaking , the Minister of Police Affairs,  Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi,  said he was happy that, the members the party in the state were not despaired in spite of what happened at the Supreme Court.Dingyadi further  noted that, the people of the state were still in high spirits,  energetic and confident .” As Muslims, what happened has been ordained by God and we have accepted it in good faith,” the Minister , averred .

Also speaking , the APC Gubernatorial Candidate,  Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, described the injustice meted to the party at the Tribunal,  Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court as a daylight robbery .Aliyu lamented that , the overwhelming mandate given to the APC has been illegally snatched and expresed optimism about divine revenge .

The State APC Chairman,  Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida maintained that, more than seventy per cent of the people of the state were fully for the party .

Achida also categorically disclosed the members of the party would not join the PDP-led Sokoto State Government as canvassed by Gov . Aminu Waziiri Tambuwal and his lieutenants .

Masha Allahu,  All Praises be to the Almighty Allah ( SWT),  who has divinely blessed the people of Sokoto State with the never tiring , core Philanthropist and Veteran Technocrat , a two-term former Governor , a former Deputy Governor and now a serving , diligent and an upright Distinguished Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria . He is indeed a Trail Blazer and an astute Pacesetter . There was therefore little wonder when on that historic day , Sokoto stood still for him, his Son, Ahmed Aliyu and the APC.
