GOVERNOR MATAWALLE RECEIVES EXCELLENT LEADERSHIP AWARD FROM CIVIL SOCIETY GROUPS

Zamfara State Executive Governor Hon.Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle MON (Shattiman Sakkwato) has today received an Excellent Leadership Award from the Centre for Peace, Transparency and Accountability in recognition of his efforts in addressing security issues and bringing peace and development to Zamfara.

 

Ina statement Signed by Yusuf Idris Gusau Director General Media, Publicity Enlightenment and Communication to the Governor revealed that.

 

Similarly, the Shattiman Sakkwato on the same day received a Certificate of Performance from the Civil Society Groups for Good Governance (CSGGG).

 

 

The conferment of these outstanding recognitions took place at the City King Hotel Conference Hall, Gusau.

 

Presenting the award of Excellent Leadership to the governor, the Executive Director of the Centre for Peace, Comrade Patrick Ogheneyero said the exemplary leadership qualities being demonstrated by the governor have been a rallying point for the organisation over time.

 

 

These according to him, reflect unflinching commitment to the tenets of good governance best practice that are worthy of emulation for democracy to thrive.

 

 

Also the National President of the Civil Society Groups for Good Governance, Comrade Ogakwu Dominic said while making his presentation, that the 186 civil society groups in Nigeria under his leadership concluded and adjudged the governor’s performance as a state governor and also recommended him for a higher national responsibility in the country.

 

 

The national president argued that his team had gone round the state including visitation of the RUGA Modern Herders settlement established by the Matawalle were convinced that the project is the best roadmap to lasting and sustainable peace in Nigeria, thus, making the governor a true nationalist.

 

 

He urged other governors in the coutry to emulate Matawalle over such sterling laudable objectives of giving all sections and people a sense of belonging.

 

 

While receiving the awards, the Matawallen Maradun who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Col Bala Mande rtd expressed pride over the awards and recognition.

 

 

The governor pointed out that he never thought his modest effort was being monitored by persons he felt were less bothered by what was happening in Zamfara .

 

 

He explained that what earned him these is the commitment of his administration and what he had put in human resources development, peace attainment and maintenance of every patriotic citizen’s right.

 

 

Matawalle expressed happiness in people’s realisation in the kinetic and non-kinetic approach to the security situation bedeviling the people of Zamfara which have yielded positive result.

 

 

He further drew the attention of Nigerians in the peace so far achieved which now accounts for free and unhindered movement at all times throughout the state with very minimal threat.

 

 

He announced that very soon, Zamfara will be acknowledged as banditry-free state in the country as the state and federal governments are doing everything to bring the situation to a logical end.

 

 

The Barden Hausa then urged Nigerians from all sections to feel free and visit the state to see things for themselves in order to be convinced instead of continuing to believe in the falsehood of mischievous elements and fake news breakers.

 

 

He described the awards as further boost in meeting the expectations of the electorates through the provision of the dividends of democracy and making more effort to do more especially in the provision of social security to the people.

 

 

The event was attended by the Deputy Chief of Staff, Dr. Bashir Mohammed Maru, Commissioners and Senior government officials.
