Rep Member Flags off Distribution Of 2,400 Bags Of Fertilizer To His Constituents

Member representing Zangon Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency, Hon Amos Gwamna Magaji has Flagged Off the distribution of 2400 bags of Fertilizer to Local farmers to help combat food insecurity in the region as the World is still battling with the covid-19 pandemic.

The Federal lawmaker, from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), while flaging-off the exercise said the gesture was in line with his philosophy of eradicating poverty, hunger in the zone.

According to him, unless there is a genuine measures taken fast to provide Fertilizer for local Farmers, adding only that will mitigate the impacts of food insecurity in the regions.

“My Constituency is an agrarian region, hence the need to put on my best to support my people with fertilizers.

The Federal lawmaker further advised residents in the area to be farming in group considering the insecurity that has hindered them access to their farm lands.

“Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has cripple the economy there is need for our people to embrace agriculture more serious as a source of livelihood.

He disclosed that plans are already underway to provide local farmers with Irrigation’s equipments so that his constituents can engage in dry season farming,” Gwamna said.

He call on the Government to ensure that fertilizers are sold at a subsidized rate to farmers which will demonstrate her determination in uplifting the standard of living of the people in the State.

In his remarks, District Head of Madakiya Mr. David Kantiok Commended the Federal lawmaker for his foresight in providing Fertilizer, saying the gesture would help curb the unsurmountable challenges that’s bedeviling the agricultural sector.

The Shield reports that the distribution will cut across the 21 Wards that make-up his Constituency.
