All Progressive Congress’s Tukur Bala has emerged Speaker of the 10th Sokoto state House of Assembly unopposed.
Similarly, the deputy Speaker , Kabiru Ibrahim Kware emerged in the same way from the APC.
The duo are to steer the affairs of the state legislature for the next four years.
The new Speaker who represents Bodinga North was on Tuesday elected by the lawmakers along side his deputy at inauguration.
However, the state assembly has in all 30 members of which APC controls 20 leaving 10 for the opposition PDP.
The emergence of the duo followed nomination by Honourable Bello Idris ( APC) and seconded by Habibu Modachi, of the PDP while the Deputy Speaker was nominated by Aminu Al-Mustapha (APC) and seconded by Buhari Haliru, of the (PDP) respectively.
Speaking upon his emergence, the Speaker, Hon. Bala appreciated the new lawmakers for their confidence in him to lead the 10th Assembly in the state.
“We will ensure a state Assembly that will work closely with all the legislatures and staff of the Assembly,” he assured.
