NDE Partners Nigerian Defence Academy to revolutionize skills training

The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has pledged to partner with the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) to revolutionize its skills training programs.
The Director General of NDE, Honourable Silas Ali Agara restated this resolve while playing host to the Commandant Nigeria Defence Academy Kaduna,
Major General John Ochefu Ochai and his delegation at his office in Abuja.
The partnership aims to align the NDA’s training programs with global best practices, equipping young army officers with globally inclined skills for competitiveness.
The Director-General of NDE,  emphasized the need for the NDA to focus on ICT-related fields in their training programs.
He also highlighted the NDE’s existing collaborations with other army establishments such as Operation Safe Corridor among others to achieve its mandate of making Nigeria a safe society.
Agara praised the leadership of the NDA under Major General John Ochefu Ochai for the positive turnaround in the training institute, urging them to sustain the tempo and expressed his commitment to supporting the NDA in its mission to produce well-trained and educated military leaders.
In his remarks, the NDA Commandant, Major General John Ochefu Ochai expressed delight with innovative ideas being championed by Agara at the NDE and solicited partnership.
It is noteworthy that the NDA, a premier military University in Nigeria, has several primary functions, including:
Training of Officer Cadets: To become commissioned officers in the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Academic Education:
The academy provides a broad-based education in arts, sciences, and military subjects to officer cadets.
Military Training:
The NDA provides military training to officer cadets, including combat skills, leadership, and tactics.
Character Development:
The academy aims to develop the moral and ethical character of its cadets, in line with the values of the Nigerian Armed Forces.
Research and Development:
The NDA conducts research and development in various fields, including defence and security studies, to enhance national security.
Production of Military Leaders:
The academy produces well-trained and educated military leaders who can lead the Nigerian Armed Forces effectively.
