The Managing Director of Tanko Furniture Factory Ltd, Sokoto, Dr Zayyanu Tanko Attahiru has donated a multimillion naira ultramodern Clinic to the Rijiyar Dorowa Community, Sokoto South Local Government of Sokoto State.
The renowned philanthropist has also fully equipped the health facility for the use of the residents of the benefiting community and their neighbours.
Inaugurating the clinic, Sokoto State Health Commissioner, Dr Mohammed Ali Inname pledged that, the ministry woud partner with any organisation and individual wishing to contribute towards the improvement of health services in the state.
Dr Inname also commended the donor for his efforts in bolstering the socioeconomic and educational development of the state.
Inname added that the provision of the clinic in the area came at a right time when the people were in dire need of such services.
The Commissioner appealed to people in the state, especially the wealthyones to complement government efforts to improve healthcare services in the state.
The Commissioner said the ministry would take over the running of the clinic.
Dr Inname who was also the Special Guest of Honour at the occasion also called on people to always ensure personal and environmental hygiene.
Also speaking , Jarman Sokoto, Alhaji Umarun-Kwabo A. A. donated N 500,000 for the provision of drugs and other medicaments at the clinic.
Represented by the State PDP Treasurer, Alhaji Murtala Dan-Iya, Umarun-Kwabo A. A. further promised purchase the neighbouring houses to the clinic, with a view to expanding it in the nearest future.
The donor, Dr Zayyanu Tanko Attahiru said that the gesture was part of his efforts to improve the provision of basic health services to the people of the state.
He also maintained that, the donation was part of his humble ways to pay back to the community that had given a lot.
