Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, winner of the United Nations World International Interfaith Week and Harmony award , has praised the recent ceasefire agreement in the Holy Land, urging continued global support for peace efforts.
He made this call during his Sunday church service, commending the progress made through the ceasefire agreement and the ongoing peace negotiations.
“We call on the international community to stand firmly behind this fragile ceasefire,” Pastor Buru said. “It is our shared responsibility to promote stability, encourage constructive dialogue, and provide the necessary resources to rebuild lives and communities. The Holy Land holds profound significance for billions around the world, and we must ensure that peace guides its future.”
“On behalf of the Peace Revival and Reconciliation Foundation of Nigeria, I express my profound hope and relief upon hearing the news of the ceasefire in the Holy Land.”
After 15 months of suffering and devastation, this moment presents a critical opportunity to end senseless violence, reflect on the devastating consequences of prolonged conflict, and work toward a future founded on understanding, justice, and peace.
Pastor Buru further emphasized, “This conflict has claimed too many innocent lives, destroyed communities, and left families scarred by trauma. The humanitarian crisis is dire, and we call on all parties to ensure that aid reaches those in need without delay.”
He added, “While this ceasefire remains fragile, it must be viewed not only as an end to hostilities, but as a vital step toward addressing the root causes of the conflict and building a foundation for lasting peace.
Adding that All parties must work together to create an environment where peaceful coexistence is not just a possibility, but a reality.”
“The road ahead will be challenging, but it is essential,” Pastor Buru continued. “Forgiveness, healing, and reconciliation must guide us. The suffering of one community should never diminish the pain of another, and the hopes of one group must not overshadow the aspirations of another. True peace is a collective journey, one that honors the dignity, rights, and dreams of all people.
Let this ceasefire mark the beginning of a new chapter—one where dialogue triumphs over violence and unity overcomes division.”
“We urge the leadership on both sides to seize this historic moment with courage and vision. Long-standing grievances, injustices, and instability must be addressed, and international law must be respected. Let us work together, in the spirit of shared humanity, to create a sustainable peace that safeguards the rights and dignity of every individual.”
Pastor Buru concluded, “I pray for all those who have lost their lives in this conflict. I also recognize the resilience of all those affected. Your strength in the face of hardship serves as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for a comprehensive resolution.”
