The General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigeria Army , Sokoto , Major General Ibikunle Ajose has called for continued inter-agency junior cadre training to strengthen leadership capabilities, operational planning and collaboration to effectively counter evolving security threats.
He noted that the role and abilities of authentic leaders would help shape the outcomes of Nigeria’s security operations.
General Ajose made the remarks on Friday at the close of 2025 – 5 days training for inter agency junior cadre organised by the Division.
Ajose who also doubles as Commander Sector 2 Northwest Operation Fansan Yamma was represented by Brigadier General Abubakar Suru said achieving operational feat was a major milestone that depended on leadership, decision- making and responsive coordination skills at the frontline.
” Authentic Leadership at All Levels of Command : A Pre-Requisite for Enhanced Effective Operational Efficiency” was the theme of the 5 days training held at the auditorium of the 8 Division Headquarters, Sokoto.
He described the training initiative as instrumental ingredient for providing valuable platform for developing strategic and qualitative competence towards tackling security challenges.
” This will provide insightful pre-requisites in the for desired success in the conduct of operations, inter agency cooperation , collaboration and coordination intelligence gathering at tactical level.
” I hope lessons learnt will have lasting impact on our cooperations for greater security and stability for the country by fostering better synergy”, the GOC pointed out as he stressed the need for security agencies working together , sharing intelligence and leveraging on the space for collective efforts to strengthen the path for more feats.
