The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) has officially launched a digital portal aimed at transforming and streamlining its operations.
According to a statement by the Deputy Director of the Public Affairs Unit, Nuhu Garba Dan-Ayamaka, the ICT Unit of the Authority made a detailed presentation highlighting the activities set for digitisation.
In his address, the Director General of KASUPDA, Bldr. Abdurrahman Yahya, Ph.D., emphasized that the presentation was an opportunity for observation, interrogation, and input from relevant stakeholders. He noted that this process of scrutiny and enhancement is essential to ensure successful implementation.
Bldr. Yahya further explained that the digitisation process will begin with three key activities:
1.Submission and processing of online applications
2.Annual renewal of outdoor advertising permits using the KASUPDA Permit Monitor
3.Upload and conversion of 25 manual files into new digitised formats
The Director of Development Control, TPL. Bello Musa Ibrahim, commended the initiative, recalling earlier efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic to establish a web portal, which were not realized at the time. He expressed satisfaction that this important milestone has now been achieved.
The presentation was led by Ahmed Usman Muhammad Head of the ICT Unit, who demonstrated additional features of the portal, including tools designed to enhance public awareness of KASUPDA’s functions across its various departments and units.
This digital shift is expected to significantly improve efficiency, transparency, and accessibility of services for the residents of Kaduna State.
