Leadership skills for junior cadre commanders essential for operational success- GOC Ajose

 

The General Officer Commanding, 8 Division , Nigeria Army ,Sokoto , Major General Ibikunle Ajose has identified strategic leadership skills as essential tool for effective and efficient military operations as an institution responsible for securing the nation.

 

 

Accordingly, the GOC said the complex security challenges being faced in the country demand string and authentic leadership at all levels, particularly at the junior command level where tactical decisions are made in real time and could have strategic consequences.

 

 

He said the ability of commanders to making sound decisions , lead with confidence and adapt to dynamic environments blossom’s and guarantee’s mission success and operational efficiency.

 

 

General Ajose who made the remark on Monday at the formal opening of the 8 Division, Sokoto Operations Planning Cadre organised training workshop pointed out that the ability to lead effectively, make quick and informed decisions and coordinate seamlessly with other security agencies remain critical to achieving collective security objectives.

 

 

Ajose who is also the Commander , Sector 2 Operation Fansan Yamma on explained that the training would further support and improve the leadership skills in the Nigeria Army among junior commanders as promoted by the COAS training objectives for the year 2025.

 

 

 

According to him ” is an opportunity for participants to refine their leadership and planning skills through interactive session, practical exercises and shared experiences.”,stressing that it would be conducted with the participation of different services and other security agencies.

 

 

He pointed ed out that military operations no longer exist in isolation given the joint environment it finds itself.

 

 

” As commanders we must be able to synchronise our efforts , share intelligence and make informed decisions in real time.

 

 

” The initiative is a significant step towards strengthening inter agency cooperation and fostering a unified approach to security operations” , he emphasised.

 

 

He noted that the presence of other esteem colleagues on the lines of providing security would further reinfi ce the importance of strategic synergy in tracking and tackling security threats within Sokoto state and beyond.

 

 

However, participants at the training workshop holding between 17-21st February were drawn from across all security agencies in the state which include: DSS, NSCDC, Customs, NIS, NDLEA, FRSC, Police and the Correctional Service
