Northern Nigerian Christian Clerics Pay Homage to His Highness Khalifah Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to Strengthen Ties
A delegation of Christian clerics from Northern Nigeria paid a visit to His Highness Khalifah Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, on Monday, April 22nd, 2024, in Kaduna.
Led by Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry in Kaduna, the delegation aimed to strengthen the bonds of interreligious tolerance, dialogue on peace, and unity.
Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru highlighted Khalifah Sanusi Lamido Sanusi’s pivotal role in advocating for peace, unity, and harmony in the nation.
 The delegation expressed their gratitude for his remarkable efforts in promoting peace and fostering interfaith activities nationwide.
Khalifah Sanusi has been instrumental in promoting interreligious tolerance, fostering better understanding, and facilitating peace talks and dialogues among various faith-based organizations in Nigeria and across West Africa.
The delegation commended Khalifah Sanusi’s contributions to peacebuilding, resolving situation in ECOWAS  and suggesting him as a deserving candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Expressing their admiration for such an iconic leader, Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru conveyed heartfelt wishes for Khalifah Sanusi’s longevity and prosperity.
Pastor Alhamdu John from From Abuja the capital city of Nigeria echoed sentiments of joy in meeting with an Islamic leader, emphasizing the visit’s purpose of promoting unity, peace, and tolerance among Nigerians.

Pastor George Joshua from Benue State stressed the importance of both Muslim and Christian clerics teaching their followers the true teachings of their faiths to enhance peace, love, and unity.
In response, His Highness, the former Emir of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, expressed gratitude for the visit and commended the Christian clerics for their efforts. He emphasized the critical role of peace and justice in nation-building and urged collective action among stakeholders to promote peace, unity, and justice in the country.
