The Chief of Defence Staff , General Christopher Musa has tasked the Nigeria Army on the need to remain steadfast against the security challenges facing the country.
He said the Nigerian Army can do more in fast tracking it operations professionally with patriotism towards freeing the nation of terrorism.
He noted that the army was driving its responsibility in complete synergy while assuring Nigerians that the army will sustain intensified efforts in its operation.
” The army cannot do it alone. It’s a collective synergy which Nigerians should understand. It is our challenges as citizens no one will do it for us. Therefore, let’s do it to get it right.
Speaking Tuesday in Sokoto at a special launch to mark the Xmas and new celebration with officers , men and families of 8 Division , Sokoto, General Musa who encouraged officers and men of the army not to be tired , said the duty of the army was to bring and ensure peace was sustained in the country.
According to the CDS who was born and brought up in the caliphate ” We can do it and with God, our efforts will be crowned with success. We need to work hard and believe in God who does it. We will surely succeed.
” We have the capacity and capability to achieve the desired success”, while noting that whatever challenges being faced, the leadership of the military remain together with the troops and families.
The CDS visit to Sokoto is coming behind an earlier by the COAS, Lt. General Toareed Lagbaja who had a similar lunch where he commended Sokoto state government for extending support to the army in the state” we are appreciative for providing an enabling environment for our troops to operate”, Lagbaja remarked.
The lunch held at the 26 Battalion parade ground venue of the event attended by senior military officers led by the GOC 8 Division , Sokoto and theatre Commander of the North West operation Hadarin Daji, Major General Mutkut was climaxed with musical entertainment and cultural displays.
However, the CDS during the visit , inaugurated a clinic to pay back to his alma Mata.
