Kebbi state Governor’s wife, Hajiya Zainab Nasare Nasir Idris has pledged to support orphans and vulnerable children in the state to live meaningful lives as potential Nigeria leaders.
The First Lady who was moved by the plight of the category of children while at a visit to the orphanage, further inspired their spirit with a promise that henceforth, all orphans and vulnerable children in the state should consider the State Governor as their God given parents.
Hajiya Zainab Nasare also assured of the commitment and continued support of her office to the children with social disadvantage in the state .
The visit according to a release issued Thursday by Khadijat Sa’idu, Press Secretary to the state First Lady also took the governor’s wife to the remand home all under the supervision of the state Ministry for Women Affairs and Social Development where she urged the children to turn a new leaf and prayed God Almighty to prepare the children moral and the religious way so that they can be of benefits to themselves, parents and the society as a whole.
She disclosed that the current administration was poised to demonstrating commitment to the course of humanity through responsive policies and programmes that would evenly benefit the society.
” I have special reason for driving this course of supporting them to become better citizens and future leaders of the country.”
The First Lady further added” I want to tell you that you may be orphans but you are not, because we are with you and will always provide all that you need.
” I will ensure the present administration under the leadership of Governor Nasir Idris continues to provide your needs so that you do not miss out on anything that will warrant you all to feel the impact of not having your parents close.
” All requests will be looked into and ensure that the necessary attention needed are are given by the State Governor.”
Earlier, the overseer of the remand home, Malam Sanusi gave a brief history and the progress made in rehabilitating some of the children as well threw light on the challenges faced.
In company of the state first Lady were wives of the state legislators and top government functionaries who also witnessed the presentation of food items, toiletries, medicament and a token as highlights with the view to improving their welfare.
