INEC declares NASS elections in Sokoto inconclusive

The Independent National Electoral Commission , INEC has declared as inconclusive the National Assembly elections conducted in Sokoto state last Saturday.

The Commission’s image maker in the state, Dr. Shamsuddeen Sidi said supplementary was indicated against all the 11 Federal Constituencies and 3 Senatorial Districts respectively.as they were not returned accordingly.

Meanwhile, the delay in announcing results of the National Assembly elections had sent in disturbing concerns and confusion.

However, the scenario forced supporters and hard core loyalists especially of the two major political parties, APC and PDP in the state to resort to displaying fake results on social media platforms and handles to drive their political interest for candidates of their choice.

Though, results collated before arriving at the latest decision showed that candidates of APC and PDP had edge over one another across the 23 councils.

In the Southern Senatorial Zone, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal was in leading his opponent , Sen. Abdullahi Danbaba Dambuwa of APC with 87,850 votes against 79,991 votes while Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and leader of APC party in the state in the state was leading in Sokoto North with 11,732 votes margin after polling 114,866 votes against the 103,134 polled by PDP’s candidate and deputy Governor of the state, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya.

Similarly, PDP’s candidate, Shu’aibu Gwanda Gobir was leading in the Sokoto East Senatorial election with 2051 votes margin difference having scored 99, 198 against Ibrahim Lamido of APC who polled
97,147 votes.
