KASUPDA HOLDS ” PUBLIC COMPLAINT WEEK” IN ZARIA

The Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority(KASUPDA) has concluded its “Public Complaint Week” programme for the first quarter of 2025 which held  in Zaria.
In a statement issued by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs Unit of the Authority, Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka said a total number of 12 complaints were received by the Authority during the programme out of  which six(6) were related to Grace Land area in Zaria.
Complaints made concerning KASUPDA were resolved while others related to sister agencies such as KADGIS, KEPA, KSDPC among others were referred to agencies for resolutions.
In his response to the Grace Land issues,  the Director General of the Authority, Bldr. Abdurrahman Yahya, Ph.D said KASUPDA is working with the state government to ensure that the lingering problems were resolved. The DG led his management team to the area for first hand information and called on the leadership of the community that all development activities in the area should be suspended pending the decision of the state government.
The Public Complaint Week’ programme has been initiated by current DG to enable the people lay complaints, ask questions and make suggestions in line with His Excellency’s commitment to carrying people alone and resolve their problems. This ensures improved service delivery , enhance public trust as well as promoting transparency, accountability and good governance to people.
Participants at the event were the representatives from Zazzau Emirate Council, representative of Commissioner of Police, KEPA, KSDPC, NITP, NIA, NIOB, academicians among others.
Participants at the event commended the DG on his noble idea to engage the public by giving them an opportunity to interact with KASUPDA’s management directly on issues bordering development. They also stressed the need for sensitization/enlightenment on KASUPDA’s mandates, synergy with the government Agencies, use of technological advancement in planning sector, training and of the need for the citizens to abide by the rules and regulations.
Furthermore, the DG also led his management team to the Emir of Zazzau’s palace, Amb. Ahmad Nuhu Bamalli in respect of his request to the DG during his courtesy visit to the palace on the need to have a liason officer from KASUPDA whom will be working with him in the palace on issues related to the mandates of KASUPDA. The DG presented Yusuf Aliyu to the emir to serve as the officer.
