The Governing Board of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has co-opted a Fellow of the Institute, Musa Bashir Usman, FNIPR, into its Council to serve the remainder of the tenure of the late Alhaji Bashir Adamu Chedi, FNIPR.
Usman, in his acceptance remarks shortly after the Kaduna State Chapter Chairman, Malam Haruna Malami, announced the appointment to chapter members, described the co-option as a great honour and a call to national service
He expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the opportunity and prayed for the strength to discharge his responsibilities with dedication and commitment.
“This co-option into the highest governing body of our Institute is one of the best things that has happened to me in recent times. I am grateful to Almighty Allah for the privilege and the call to duty,” he said.
The newly co-opted Council member thanked senior elders and leaders of the Institute for their roles in the nomination process, including the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, FNIPR; a former NIPR President, Malam Muktar Sirajo, FNIPR; a former Vice President, Malam Mohammed Auwal, FNIPR; and the current NIPR President, Dr. Ike Neliaku, FNIPR, for approving the nomination.
Usman also reassured members of the Kaduna State Chapter of his continued loyalty and commitment, noting that although the assignment is national in scope, he remains a devoted member of the chapter.
“I will do everything within my capacity to ensure that our chapter continues to benefit from the quality representation it enjoyed during the tenure of our late Fellow, Bashir Adamu Chedi, of blessed memory,” he added.
He thanked members for their goodwill messages and appealed for prayers to enable him succeed in the new responsibility, while praying for continued blessings on the chapter and the Institute at large.
