KASUPDA TO ESTABLISH A CENTRAL ANIMAL MARKET IN KADUNA

 

In an effort to boost economy of Kaduna state KASUPDA has met Association of Animal Sellers Kaduna Chapter on the issues of establishing a central market for selling of animals saying it is appropriate option in addressing challenges on the activity.

 

In a statement Signed Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka (Public Relations Executive, PRE),
KASUPDA made available to newsmen revealed that.

 

Director General of Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA), Mal. Isma’il Umaru Dikko made this known during a meeting with members of the Association.

He noted that insecurity, rustling and ensuring the health of animals could be properly handled, if a large market for the business is established within the northern states.

He emphasized that the market will serve as a centre for transaction from the north to southern part of Nigeria and other neighouring countries.

The DG said realization of such market will also contribute towards proper urban planning, generating employment opportunities and revenue generation.

He reiterated the determination of KASUPDA to come up with design and land allocated when approved for construction in Kaduna State.

In his remark, leader of the delegation who is the Sarkin Zango, Alh. Usman Musa described as worrisome the challenges of taking animals from the north to south due to insecurity.

While, commending the leadership of KASUPDA for the meeting and Urban renewal initiative of the government the Sarkin zango pledged contribution of members to the market project.

Also at the meeting issues on markets for the sell of rams and other animals for this year’s El-idil Kabir sacrifice were discussed and temporary approval given.
