Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, has officially inaugurated the Kaduna State Disarmament, Demobilisation and Reintegration (DDR) Peace and Security Committee.
The inauguration, held at the Council Chambers of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, marks a historic milestone as Kaduna becomes the first state to implement the initiative, which is built on the successes of the Kaduna Peace Model.
The programme represents a major shift in Kaduna’s approach to human security, reflecting a strengthened framework for addressing conflict, promoting peacebuilding, and supporting community reintegration efforts.
It also underscores a robust partnership between the State Government, the Federal Government, and international stakeholders, aimed at achieving sustainable conflict resolution and long-term stability.
The initiative brings together key actors across security, governance, and development sectors to ensure both local impact and alignment with global best practices in peacebuilding.
By inaugurating the committee, the administration reinforces its commitment to preventive security strategies, social cohesion, and inclusive development across Kaduna State.
