Gov. Aliyu Appoints Sardaunan Dundaye As MD For State Media Corporation, Other Officials 

Gov. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has appointed Labaran Lumu Dundaye, Sardaunan Dundaye as the new Managing Director, Sokoto State Media Corporation.

The approval is contained in a statement signed by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Abubakar Bawa and made available to journalists in Sokoto.

Bawa said Dundaye’s appointment is based on merit, devotion, professionalism and it is with immediate effect.

He wished the new managing director a very successful administration in handling the affairs of the premier media institution in the state.

The new managing director is a holder of the National Certificate in Education (NCE), B.A. English, Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and Master’s Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy.

He also holds certificates in Journalism from FRCN Staff Training School, Lagos and NTA Television College,Jos, Plateau State.

Labaran Lumu Dundaye had also held a number of positions both at federal, state and local government levels.

The positions included: Acting Manager, News, NTA Sokoto Network Centre, Director Mobilization and Orientation, Ministry of Information Sokoto, and General Manager, Rima Television (RTV) Sokoto.

He was also the Deputy Managing Director (DMD), Sokoto State Media Corporation and NTA Sokoto Correspondent to Government House, Sokoto where he worked with four Governors.

Labaran Lumu Dundaye was also  a one-time Judiciary Correspondent for NTA Sokoto during which he reported a number of political and other celebrated cases.

 Dundaye was also elected as the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Sokoto State Council for six years.

Other appointees with the new managing Director as approved by governor include: Maryam Abdullahi, Deputy Managing Director, Balkisu Abubakar, Director Television Services,Bala Umar Garba, Director, Engineering and Buhari Awwalu Gada, Director, Mobilization.

Others are: Abdulrahman Muhammad, Director Commercials,  Danmallam Bashir Balarabe, Director, Rima FM, as well as Ibrahim Muhammad, Director Radio Services.

The rest of the new appointees are:  Yusuf Ibrahim, acting Director, Maintenance, Abubakar Ahmad Kofar Atiku, Director, Special Projects and Rabi Muhammad Gwadabawa, Director, Mobilization, Sokoto State Universal Education Board (SUBEB).
