Journalist Hudu defeats majority Leader Tanko Tunga in Nasarawa

A journalist, Hudu A. Hudu has defeated the majority leader of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Tanko Tunga in All Progressives Congress, ( APC ) primaries for Awe North State constituency.

Hudu A. Hudu polled 20 votes, Tanko Tunga scored 10 votes and the third and last aspirant, Suleiman Tunga did not have even one vote.

The Journalist said, ” I have being a practising broadcast Journalist for twenty years with Nasarawa Broadcasting Service, ( NBS) and this is my maiden contest in mainstream politics, which was conducted in a safe atmosphere.

” I campaign by visiting people in the grassroots and some times called the electorate on phone as obtainable in develop nations and told them my manifesto.

” I am calling on the electorate to continue voting wisely and ensure that only competent and credible leaders are voted to power.

” They should always conduct themselves peacefully and avoid any thing capable of truncating the electoral process.

” They should not allow money bag politicians buy their conscience and to later abandon them after the election.” Said Hudu A. Hudu.

Tanko Tunga who lost to Journalist Hudu Hudu has being a member with NSHA for three consecutive terms.

The former Chairman of Awe Local Government, Alhaji Abubakar Dan-Akano commended the people for conducting a peaceful election.

Awe North State Constituency six electoral wards, they are 6 Kanje/Abuni, Jangaru, Madaki, Galadima, Makongiji and Tunga respectively.
