Journalists major pillars of development, says Bauchi Emi

The Emir of Bauchi, Alh Dr Rilwanu Sulaiman Adamu has described journalists as major pillars of development in any society.
The Emir stated this on Thursday when he received National Leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists under its national president, Comrade Chris Isiguzo who paid him a royal homage in his palace.
He explained that Journalists have a big role to play towards development of any nation, hence the need to partner with them for meaningful projects.
The Emir urged journalists to always observed the ethics of the profession while performing their duties.
He thanked President and his entourage for the visit.
Earlier speaking the NUJ President Comrade Chris Isiguzo said traditional rulers need a constitutional role that is unique towards maintenance of peace in various communities.
He called on National Assembly members to provide constitutional backing to the traditional rulers to contribute towards building peaceful coexistence among communities.
Comrade Isiguzo commended the Emir for supporting journalists in the state and urged him to extend such support to the zone and national body of the Union.
-NUJ President was accompanied to the palace by Commissioner of Information and Communication, Dr Ladan Salihu, Deputy President and SSA media to the governor, Comrade Muhktar Gidado and some National officers of the Union.
