Maryam Abacha American University of Niger (MAAUN-Maradi) has achieved yet another milestone with its latest ranking as the second overall best university in Niger Republic by AD Scientific Index 2024 report.

The 11-year old university, which emerged 2nd best ahead of all public and private universities in the country, is adjudged to be among the leading institutions in terms of scientific research in the African continent.

The global ranking for MAAUN is coming three months after the AD Scientific Index ranked the same institution as the best private university in the whole of Niger Republic.

MAAUN, a research oriented institution, also emerged as the 48th best university out of the 384 private universities in Africa.

This latest release by the Niger All Universities Rankings 2024 report, would inevitably fast-track the vision of the founder of the university, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, of seeing MAAUN graciously assuming its rightful position as the leading university in Africa and beyond.

The Scientific Index is the only university/institution ranking system that analyzes the distribution of scientists in an institution according to percentage 10, 20, 40, 60,80 percentiles and total scientists.

The ranking system was based upon the following criteria, namely; the number of scientists listed in the AD Scientific Index, number of scientists in the top 3 percent list and the number of scientists in the top 10%, top 20%, top 40%, top 60% and top 80% list.

AD Scientific Index is also the most comprehensive independent academic environment with a total of 1,610,021 scientists, 219 countries and 23,200 universities/institutions.

The University Ranking body not only shows the areas in which a university is best or focused, but also reflects the results of the institutions’ scientist recruitment policies.
