Ramadan 2024: kaduna Pastor & Imam Mobilises 1000 faith–base-Leaders kick Against Foodstuffs Inflation amids hardship

 

As the countdown to the commencement of the holy month of Ramadan 2024 enters its final month, a well-known Nigerian Pastor, Dr. Yohanna Buru, has galvanized 1000 religious leaders to address the escalating prices of essential goods.

According to him The leaders, comprising both Christian and Muslim clerics, are joining forces to embark on an extensive preaching and advocacy campaign at sacred locations across the country, aiming to combat the challenges posed by increasing costs of living .

While commending the effort of the federal government toward finding solutions to the situations which include, the Nigerian government , considering releasing food from its reserve to address economic hardship in the country

Dr. Buru, recognized for his charitable acts of distributing food to impoverished Muslims during Ramadan, highlighted the current difficulties, attributing them to the removal of fuel subsidies.

While Emphasizing the need for solidarity, he stressed the importance of concerted efforts to alleviate the financial burden on individuals and families, particularly focusing on the rising prices of essential commodities.

“Now is the time to remember widows, the physically challenged, inmates, orphans, and IDPs, so that they too can find relief in the holy month,” expressed Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, who serves as the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry.

In his commitment to promoting unity, Pastor dr Buru is mobilizing over 1000 volunteers from both Christian and Muslim communities to unite and take the campaigh their sermon at places of worship educating the.marketers benefit of cutting down prices during a season like this

“for the past 10 years during an occation like this, i used to mobised clerics to joined me to meet with markers to plea”.

Their mission involves , appealing to marketers not to exploit the approaching holy month to creat artificially inflate prices.

In an official statement, Pastor Buru highlighted the urgency of their mission, with less than four weeks remaining until Muslims commence their fasting and prayers.

He urged traders not to engage in practices such as hoarding and creating artificial scarcity during Ramadan, which would disproportionately affect those observing the holy month.

The upcoming campaign, set to kick off in Two week, aims to reach markets across the Northern region.

Pastor Buru emphasized that the primary goal is to encourage traders to lower prices, making essential goods more accessible to Muslims during the fasting period.

He called on wealrhy individuals to assist the poor muslims in other to recieved plenty award from the almighty

Imam Ibrahim Musa, an Islamic scholar from Northern Nigeria, echoed these sentiments, announcing plans to visit markets in the coming weeks . He emphasized the significance of Ramadan and the benefits for traders who voluntarily reduce food prices during this sacred month.

The leaders expressed optimism about garnering widespread support from imams and pastors through social media channels, fostering a collaborative effort to alleviate the economic challenges faced by the community during Ramadan.
