It has been jubilation all through by thousands of youths and supporters across the streets of Sokoto, seat of the caliphate over the victory of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
The jubilant supporters dressed in multiple colour attires and faced caps with APC symbols that added beauty to the caliphate chanting Hausa songs in unison ” Mata sun ci banza,, da waya da atamfa da sefa da kula” meaning : Women have gotten cell phones, wrappers, Nigerien Sefa (currency) and Cooler free from PDP and voted their choice. ”
Aliyu Sokoto was declared winner of the state governorship elections after a land slide victory with 453,661 to emerge governor -elect against PDP favourite, Ubandoma as announced by INEC.
However, Ubandoma street, Gobirawa road at Rijiya area, Bello Way and Abdullahi Fodiyo road among numerous others, all in Sokoto metropolis was alive and taken over on Monday, by rallies in solidarity with APC for reclaiming it’s lost mandate in 2019.
The rallies were dominated by all sexes across all ages .
Different campaigns slogans and musical tomes were displayed with motorcade and motor cycle rallies by loyalists to show their joy for defeating Tambuwal ‘s anointed PDP candidate , Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma who marginally led in only 5 out of the 23 LGs as Ahmed Sokoto swept the remaining 18 with wide margin.
The Ubandoma street in the central part of the ancient city of Sokoto, houses the family home of the PDP governorship candidate .
Also, supporters residing at the Marina Area in the metropolis were not left out in the jubilation as multiple of supporters engaged in trekking long distance from one street to another in expression of the election victory.
