We Are Going To Boost Agriculture in Katsina State

Hon Shu’abu Wakili Kafur, has promised to work hard and ensure that Rice and all farming  continued to expand and develop in Katsina State.

Shu’aibu Wakili Kafur, is a member representing Kafur Local Government in Katsina State House of Assembly and immediate past chairman of Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, RIFAN, Katsina chapter made the pledge in an interview in Kaduna.

According to what he said rice farming has grown tremendously in Katsina State in the last eight years and “we will ensure it get boost,expands and develop to meet food security in Nigeria.

“It will be done in making legislations that will guarantee the steady supply of agricultural imputs such as fertilizers, seeds and seedlings, pesticides, farming implements at affordable prizes for farmers as well as markets for harvested crops”, he said.

The house of assembly member continued as saying that, the  farmers in Katsina State should count themselves as  lucky people for having a hardworking and vibrant governor who is also an agriculture expert with the zeal to improve small and big farmers in the state.

Now that Katsina State has a rice milling companies, rice farmers should not entertain fear in marketing their produce after harvest.

Hon. Wakili Kafur, therefore sought continued cooperation with the state government and all relevant stakeholders to join hands in the development of agriculture and other economic and social efforts of the Gov. Dikko Radda government with an intention to boost the economic activities in the state.
