It was jubilation all through across streets in Sokoto metropolis yesterday by youth supporters of the All Progressives Congress expressing their joy over the presidential election victory of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The jubilating youths in their thousands , filed out as early as 9am for the peaceful rally in celebration of the elections verdict that recognised APC candidate as president -elect following INEC announcement in Abuja.
In a colourful procession chanting political slogans; Sai Asiwaju, Jagaban shiga Villa” meaning : Tinubu already leading the APC to the presidential Villa rented the air for hours, the youths who were in high spirit marched their way from the party secretariat at Diplomat Area on Ali Akilu road to Sultan Atiku road and linked the rally to Aadu Bello Way down to Abdullahi Fodiyo road through Maiduguri road and terminated at Gawon Nama.
Addressing the jubilant youths , the Leader of the party in the state and former governor, Senator Aliyu Wamakko represented by former deputy governor and APC governorship candidate , Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto appreciated the resilience of the youths for voting Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He noted that APC was truly the most popular and acceptable party in Sokoto state.
Aliyu Sokoto said the president -elect was in tune with their support and will not let them down.
The governorship candidate further called on them to sustain the tempo and resilience ahead of the state governorship election coming in days time.
He expressed optimism that APC would reclaim its 2019 mandate landslide on March 11.
” I am sure everyone is in high spirit with the victory of Tinubu. We are confident it will smoothen our chances of getting more support for the next election . Come out en-mass and vote for our party. ”
Earlier while addressing the youths before they embarked on the presidential victory rally , the party chairman in the state, Sadik Isah Achida appealed to them to demonstrate maturity while conducting the peaceful procession rally without causing any destruction.
Achida said APC was a law abiding party which abhor’s violence stressing that it supporters were disciplined and calm .
