The Permanent Representative of Nigeria at the United Nations, Professor Tijjani Bande is organizing a two-day conference with the theme “Tradition and Modernity: Issues in the History of Katsina. The Conference will run from 29-30 December 2022 at the Conference Hall of Katsina Motel.
The Conference is being organized in honor of Ambassador Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, current Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) who will be turbaned in 31st December 2022 as the new Sardaunan Katsina.
Seventeen academic papers by renowned experts will be presented over a period of two days. On the first day of the conference, four papers will be presented on Royalty, Historiography and Scholarship in Katsina and six others on Issues in History, Tradition and Continuity.
On the second day, eight presentations will be made on Security and Peace Building as well as the contributions of Katsina to the development of sports and women in Nigeria.
