The Aliko Dangote the President of the Dangote Groups, intervention on the expansion works of Murtala Mohammed Hospital Antenatal Units and other Units costing Billions of Naira is set to be completed soon.
The President of the Kano Friends of the Hospital, Dr Bature AbdulAziz, described the ongoing expansion works on the State oldest and biggest Murtala Mohammed Hospital, where over 1, 000 Babies are Delivered Monthly, by the Africa Richest Person, Aliko Dangote something of pride.
The Friends of the Hospital who were on inspection visit on the ongoing expansion works site by Dangote, where told that by the Chief Medical Director, CMD, Dr Usman, who conducted them round, that the hospital presently received on monthly basis not less than 16,000 Women on Pregnancy antenatal.
Dr Usman Tijjani, also explained that the Hospital was built in 1926 and was operated by the Colonial Masters for over 34 years, while later on, Nigerians Qualified Medical Doctors like Dr Rabiu Dan Sitta with over 18 others taken Presided over the Hospital.
He said the interventions of Alhaji Aliko Dangote on the construction of another Maternity Wards with other important wards would helped in no small measure in allowing the Hospital to retain it’s glorious names of the Northern Nigeria biggest.
The Murtala Mohammed Hospital is said to received on daily basis over 4,000 Patients, while over 500 Pregnant Women do conduct antenatal test daily, adding that over 200 Surgery were conducted also daily.
Speaking during the visit, the President Friends of the Hospital, Dr Bature AbdulAziz, while commending Aliko Dangote for spending Billions of Naira to expand the Hospital, reminded that his Philanthropic gesture was inherited from his Grandfather Alhassan Dantata to his Mother Mariya Dantata and others
Dr Bature AbdulAziz, explained that Kano People’s are extremely happy with the Dangote interventions on the Northern Nigeria biggest and oldest Murtala Mohammed Hospital, which he notes would keep other Neighboring States including People’s from Niger, Chad and Cameron Republics patronizing the hospital.
“For over 100 years ago, the Alhassan Dantata Family have been doing these kind of Philanthropic gesture, with over 250,000 People been employed on different scales of Jobs by the Family, so is not a new thing Dangote is doing, is an inheritance gesture”, Dr Bature AbdulAziz, added.
The Chief Medical Director, Dr Usman Tijjani, said with the expansion works, the amount of Babies Deliverance would increase while Patients visiting Doctor’s would also be redoubled.
