Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority(KASUPDA) has served a 7 days demand notices on charges to property owners for the land use violations in Kaduna Metropolis.
This was contained in a statement issued to the press by KASUPDA’s Head of Public Affairs Unit, Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka.
The statement stressed that, in an effort to improve and sustain urban planning standard in Kaduna State, the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority(KASUPDA) has noted with concern on the land use violations of building structures without proper approvals, operating commercial
activities in a residentials tittles, using land for industrial purposes to residentials or recreationals and exceeding allowed building height or density carrying out by individuals, communities and organisations which attract penalty, fines or demolition of such structures as provided by the Law.
The Authority further explained that, in view of the above and in line with the Kaduna State Tax codification and consolidation Law, 2020 for the land use violation, KASUPDA served demand notices on charges for such violations to property owners in Kaduna Metropolis.
KASUPDA therefore advised the general public, especially those that have violated to come willingly and abtain operational license based on activities in operation.
According to the Release failure to adhere with this directive before the expiration order, KASUPDA have no option than to take appropriate action by sealing the properties from such operation as stipulated by the Law accordingly.
