NDE Resettles 5,532  Beneficiaries Of  Its Renewed Hope Employment Initiative With Start-up Tools

The National Directorate of Employment, (NDE) has resettled 5,532 in its first phase out of  93,731 beneficiaries across the country of
its Renewed Hope Employment Initiative, (RHEI) with start-up tools after the  successful completion of their training.
The Minister of State, Labour and Employment, Honourable Nkeiruka Onyejeocha said in her speech at the presentation of the starter tools at the Old Parade Ground in Garki, Abuja on Tuesday.
According to her, “The NDE is doing a good work by implementing the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, I am calling on Philanthropists, Corporate organizations, development partners, wealthy individuals and relevant stakeholders  to join the NDE in empowering youths for the betterment of the country.
“I call on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the working tools given to them on loan for they to be self employed and also be employers of labour.” She said.
In his speech, Chairman, Senate committee on Labour, Senator Diket Plang said the National Assembly is willing to work to actualize the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in training youths to have decent jobs for self reliance.
In his remarks, Chairman, House committee on Labour, Hon Adebayo Adefarati said, he is happy that the NDE is doing a good work in reducing unemployment and poverty. I enjoin the beneficiaries to make good use of the start-up tools.
In his speech, DG, NDE, Honourable Silas Ali Agara said, “NDE has resettled 5,532 out of 93,731 beneficiaries., this type of event is taking place in the 36 states of the country. It is a resettlement of beneficiaries under the RHEI of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for youth to be productive and have decent jobs through vocational training in agricultural,
entrepreneurial practices and activities in the public works sector like fashion and design, computer operations, knitting, metal fabrication, catering, solar installation amongst others.
“The process was recruitment of 10 persons per electoral wards across Nigeria, training and resettlement of Nigerian youth between age 18-35, training and resettlements l of 10,588 women in income generating activities and training and resettlement of 3000 persons living with disability for inclusivity.”
In her remarks at the event, Hajiya Amina Shettima Lewa, Director Vocational Skills Development of NDE calls on the beneficiaries to handle the equipment with utmost care, avoid accidents, save to payback the loan of the working tools for they to start up their business venture and even be employers of labour.
A beneficiary from Abaji Area Council of Abuja, Halimat Olawale said she learnt within 3 months, food supplements processing Potato powder, rice powder, dried onion, Dried Tomato amongst others.
