Wamakko Tasks Media Professionals To See Selves As Servants To Humanity

Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko has charged media professionals to remain fearless, objective and credible as servants to humanity.

” The media must always drive it course in a positive direction for humanity and general stability of the country which belongs to us.

” Doing this, will surely earn you remarkable reward both on earth and the hereafter.

” Your services is as significant as those of humanitarian organisations .”

Wamakko who is also the Chairman , Senate committee on Local and Foreign Debts made the remarks in Sokoto on Tuesday shortly after the Appeal Court verdict that affirmed his election.

Wamakko, an APC  third term senator who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District also noted that media professionals were a driving force to reckon with in the journey for a prosperous nation towards the peace and stability of the country.

” The society has confidence in you as tool for development in defence of their rights.

” You are their ears , eyes and voices through which their hope, aspirations and yearnings could be realised.

” Your role is key in stabilising the country and in defence of truth with patriotic mind.

” We all owe Nigeria a duty to project it’s image  and citizens in good light without compromising our responsibilities to their wishes and aspirations “, he said.

According to Wamakko ” we have to appreciate your unflinching role of uniting our diversity through your professional responsibility as the 4th estate of the realm”, he pointed out.

Wamakko who holds the Sultanate title of “Sarkin Yamman Sokoto”, stressed the need for all and sundry to extend helping hands to those in need especially the less privileged in the society  painting out that ” no matter how little one can afford to support those in need, will surely help and will not go unrewarded”, he added.
