The 593-member Union of Northern Nigeria, led by the leader of the Northern Consensus Movement (NCM), Comrade Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu, is calling on President Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu to support the candidacy of Senator Abdul’Aziz Abubakar Yari from Zamfara state who is seeking to be the president of theTenth Senate.
The explanation of this is contained in an information document by Awwal Abdullahi Aliyu the President (NCM) read to the media at a meeting in Kaduna.
The main purpose of calling this joint press conference is to protect the interests of the northern part of the country in the Nigerian federation, especially in the search for the seat of the President of the Senate held by Abdul’Aziz Abubakar Yari, a good person who wants the development of the people.
A coalition of 593 members, which includes civil society, cultural and economic organizations, which acts as a network of progressive thinkers from the 19 Northern states and the federal capital, Abuja, including Citizens’ Organizations Northern Residents of 17 Southern States.
The ‘Northern Consensus Movement (NCM),’ is looking for Honorable Sen. Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the President of Nigeria, who supported our call to support Senator Abdulazeez Abubakar Yari from the North West to seek the seat of the President of the 10th Senate based on the contributions received from the voting.
As everyone knows, the North West region has given the APC victory over all parties.
“The North gave APC more than Five Million and Seven Hundred (5,700,000) votes and the North West got more than Two Million and Seven Hundred (2,700,000.00) votes more than all the states in this country”.
In addition, the state of Senator Abdulazeez Abubakar Yari has the most votes that the APC has received, surpassing any other state in the federation with more than One Million (1,000,000) votes.
You can remember that democracy is not about religion or ethnicity, democracy is a game of numbers and interest that is why the people of the North prepared to elect President Ahmed Bola Tinubu,as their President more than all the candidates for the Presidency of Nigeria, even those came from the North.
Finally, we wish President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, the President of the Federation of Nigeria, to be democratic in order to enable the democratic system to succeed in the election of the 10th Senate President.
