BAUCHI LAWMAKER GIVES LIFELINE TO 400 LESS PRIVILEGE ON CHRISTMAS

 

 

 

Bauchi state lawmaker Honourable Musa Wakili Nakwada has distributed food items, clothes and cash worthed over N10 million to people of his constituency mostly the ageing women, youths and other vulnerable people.

The member who is representing Bogoro Constituency in Bauchi State House of Assembly,said the
gesture is part of his spirit in humanity and milk of kindness to assist the most needed people in the society who can not afford to put on their table.

And further Says that the move was aimed at giving back to the people part of what is meant for their well-being.

Nakwada, therefore, thanked the people of his Constituency for supporting him since his election and eventual inauguration as a member of the Assembly assuring that he will continue to protect their collective interests for development of the area.

He then appeal to
those who are ward leaders who collected the items on behalf of their respective members to ensure that they delivered them to the beneficiaries in order to build more trust.

Speaking to journalists later in his residence in Bauchi on Wednesday, Honorable Nakwada,said that the items distributed were meant to help the beneficiaries to have a sense of belonging and celebrate the Christmas and new year period full of merriment like others.

Musa Nakwada who doubled as the Spokesman of the State House of Assembly called on the wealthy individuals to imbibe the spirit of given out charity no matter how small with a view to put some smile on the faces of the common people to have a sense of belonging like others.

He said, “I spent more than N10million on this year Christmas, and that is what I normally do years back, even during the Sallah period I made sure that all the Imams and other Muslim leaders got gifts, I give them rams for their sacrifice and I also give all the village heads clothing materials to sew, including other things,” he said.

The lawmaker also said that about 400 Christian clergymen benefitted from the gesture where he gave them clothing materials including the money for sewing.

“So when it was Christmas time, I said let me do this time around touch our ministers, that is the Reverends and the pastors.

I have discovered that in Bogoro we have over 400 pastors that are there, I had a meeting with them and all of them got clothes and the money they could use to sew them,” Musa Nakwada disclosed.

Added that his party, the PDP was not left out behind as all its leaders from across the 13 wards in local government also received various sums of money including 18 party officials from each of the 13 wards, as well as all the local government EXCO members were also the beneficiaries.

“I also made sure that I purchased over 100 packages of Maggi and ensured that all the units in my wards, my items have reached out to them.

So, all the units in Bogoro, they were touched,” Nakwada said.

Nakwada who said that various groups within and outside his constituency, Bogoro have benefitted from the gesture, pledged more dividends of democracy to his people” he added

He, however, called on them to rally round and continue to support the PDP-led administration of Governor, Bala Mohammed to enable it to deliver more on its campaign promises to the entire good people of the state.
