KASUPDA Commences Processing Building approval on Squatter and Slum Settlement Areas

 

For upgrading Squatter and Slum Settlement Areas in Kaduna Metropolis, Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA) has commenced the processing of building permission in Rigasa District.

 

In a statement Signed by Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka (Public Relations Executive, PRE),
KASUPDA, made available to news men revealed that.

 

The Director General of the Authority, Mal. Ismail Umaru Dikko made this known during a sensitization visit to Squatter and Slum Settlement Areas of Rigasa District.

The DG who was represented by the Director of Urban Planning and Research of KASUPDA, Tpl. Suwaiba Hussaini explained that Squatter settlement are low residential areas which have been developed without legal right to the land or planning permission from the relevant authorities to build.

According to the DG’s representative the upgrading was in line with the ongoing Urban Renewal Initiatives of State Government.

In a press release by Public Relations Executive (PRE), Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka, quotes the DG’s representative stressing that the exercise will enable provision of infrastructures, issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) and planning permission.

While appreciating cooperation to KASUPDA by Residents of Rigasa, the representative solicited residents to sustain contribution and support towards achieving desired goals.

Coordinator of the programme, Tpl. Evenlyn Yusuf Yakubu tasked community leaders to inform their people of the programme, stressing that the upgrading is for their benefit as issues of property boundaries, insecurity and provision of facilities will be addressed.

In his remark, the District Head of Rigasa, Dan Galadiman Zazzau, Arch. Mohammed Aminu Idris described the programme as important and stressed the need for collaborative effort between traditional leaders in the Area and KASUPDA to achieving set-objectives.

The District Head tasked other traditional leaders in his district to inform the people in their respective areas on the programme.
