Kebbi: 60 APC executives in Jega LGA defect to PDP

 

No fewer than 60 executive members of All Progressives Congress (APC) in all the 11 wards of Jega Local Government Area of Kebbi State have defected to People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

 

 

They consist of APC executives from Koka new ward, Magaji A, Magaji B, Kimba/Geza, Alelu/Gehuru, Fikcin, Gindi/Kermi, Dangamaji, Dunbegu, Basaura, Jan-Dutse/Birnin Malam as well as local government executives.

 

 

Speaking during the cermony held in Jega town, the PDP Zonal Vice Chairman, Kebbi Central, Alhaji Haruna Haruna-Mai-Jega assured the defectors of equal treatment in the party and urged them to work towards the success of the party in 2023.

 

 

He appealed to the new party members to feel at home and put all hands on deck towards the success of the party in the forthcoming general elections.

Haruna-Mai-Jega advised them to remain united and work towards peaceful and violent free general elections.

 

The Zonal Vice Chairman said: “This is an event where the executive members of APC voluntarily defect to PDP, we welcome them, we cherish them and we are going to work with them to take Kebbi State to greater heights.”

 

 

In his speech, the former Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Alhaji Muhammadu Magawata-Aliero said the defection was informed by the kind gesture of the former governor of Kebbi State, Sen. Adamu Aliero which remained visible across the state.

 

 

According to him, the PDP has what it takes to bring development to Kebbi State and its people.

The PDP Chairman in Jega LGA, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad-Alelu said the defection testified that Jega remain a strong hole of PDP.

 

 

While appreciating the Almighty God for what described as a signal to overwhelming success in the forthcoming elections, Muhammad-Alelu urged the new members to consider themselves equal to all other members of the party.
