Outgoing Governor Amino Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state says his administration has made huge investment in human capital development , especially in the education sub-sector of the state economy.
Tambuwal made the disclosure on Thursday at a brief but colourful soecial state executive council valedictory session that also signalled the end of his adminstration’s 8 years while saying that ” is a development my administration is proud of.”
Accordingly , the former HoRs Speaker who is also a Senator – Elect for the 10th Assembly added”
I can confidently tell anyone who dare to know that my administration has done relatively well in the human capital development. What was the level of out of school children when we came in compared to what we have now. More children have been taken away from the streets back to classrooms.
“Look around to check the number of classrooms, provision of education materials in and across all our schools across the 23 local governments area of the state.
“I challenge anyone to come up with a prove of any state especially in the entire North West that employs 1000 teachers at once in addition to what they have on ground in our schools, but we did that here in Sokoto without retrenching anyone.
“Also in terms of infrastructure, I doubt it if there is any ward across the 23 local governments without one or two projects.
“We all know the situation of things when
we came on board eight years ago, our infrastructural projects are there for all to see especially in the metropolis”
However, the governor commended the state executive council for standing up and ensured the interest and development of the state was core and paramount in their numerous contributions.”
In the same direction, Tambuwal said apart from the infrastructural and human capital development projects put in place, his administration had successfully sanitized the state by curbing excesses of area boys especially within the metropolis
Meanwhile, the governor received accolades and commendation from the outgoing members of his cabinet who noted that his strides and genuine efforts has brought fame and promoted Sokoto state at the national level stressing the state has been brought to national limelight.
The deputy governor Manir Muhammad Dan Iya described Tambuwal as a selfless leader who’s interest was in the development of the state.
He however reaffirmed his unalloyed loyalty to the governor whom he said , contributed to his development as a politician.
While describing the governor as a listening and selfless leader who sacrificed a lot in the development of the state, Professor Abdulkadir Junaidu , Commissioner for Animal and fisheries development urged the outgoing governor to ensure the bond of relation that existed within the circle of the executive was maintained and strengthened beyond May 29th.
” I will like to add that you should not be far from home especially your constituency ”
Also, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Aisha Madawaki acknowledged Tambuwal’s sense of resilience and drive for development projects in the state.
Also speaking, the state Deputy Governor, Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya, described the governor as a selfless leader who is more interesting in the development of the state.
Hitherto, the valedictory session also attracted speeches by the Secretary to the State Government, Muhammad Mainasara, Attorney General of the state, Suleiman Usman SAN , Hajia Kulu Sifawa, Bashir Gidado among others.
