IN less than a month to the 2023 general elections , the Women wing of the All Progressives Congress in Sokoto state on Wednesday, stepped up campaigns with the unveiling of assorted campaign materials to further boost the party’s chances of victory.
Spare heading the development were APC top notch members of the Women in Politics including wives of the party state guber and deputy candidates, Hajiya Fati Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and Mrs Muhammed Idris Gobir as well that of the Minster for Police Affairs among others.
The SAAR MATA Foundation is behind the initiative rolled out to strengthen and mobilise support for the party.
The materials included assorted customised textile products, T-Shirts, P-Caps , veils among other items.
Speaking Wednesday at the unveiling ceremony held at Soul Care Hotel conference hall Sokoto, Hajiya Fati Ahmed Aliyu said the idea was to inspire women and drive APC campaigns for more support from women and youths in the state.
According to Mrs Aliyu ” we are pushing for Tinubu and the state guber candidate through this initiative.
” We are targeting women and youths through peaceful and harmonious means of wooing their support from place to place across the state.”
She said time had come for women traders o actively participate by taking queue from others who have excelled in various positions of authorities.
She expressed optimism that her husband and Tinubu were clearly costing their way to victory in Sokoto state adding that ” there are convincing indicators based on the series of defections and sprawling support for the pa ty in the state.”
She noted that the interest of electorates was growing in favour of APC.
Also , the event convener and founder of the Foundation, Barrister Sa’adatu Yunusa Muhammad said the target was to inspire women for participation in politics not only in Sokoto state but the northwest while noting that APC was a party to beat in the caliphate .
Barrister Muhammad who was the only female HoRs aspirant of the party under Bodinga /Dange Shuni/Trureta Federal Constituency at the primaries said the mechanism to ensure sustained mobilisation strategy to boost the only acceptable party (APC) in Sokoto state was being perfected to make the party more stronger and greater.
She explained that the strategy involved engaging members for strategic street to street awareness and mobilisation campaign for more support aso as to for an inroad for the party’s victory in the upcoming polls.
She added ” I have been in politics since my school days and never will never give up until and unless I realise my dream. This why I am also encouraging and voicing out for women participation in politics. I will keep pushing through my foundation.”
In her goodwill message, Barrister Hafsat Sahabi Dange , a women mobiliser , described APC women as competent subjects with resilience in delivering results for the party.
She commended the convener and founder of the SAAR MATA Foundation for her u.equalled initiative of making women key into the political environment as well mobilising for the APC.
According to her ” we are proud of your tenacity, perseverance and political wisdom for setting the agenda to shift our mind set for politics” Barrister Dange added.
However, representing Hajiya Murja Aliyu Wamakko at the event was Hajiya Murja PZ who acknowledged the dogged political spirit of the convener said Barrister Yunusa Muhammad was a path finder and women emancipator of the time urging her to keep the tempo high and result oriented.
Earlier, Hajiya Hajara Dingyadi, wife of the Minister of Police Affairs and that of the state APC Chairman who spoke same direction noted that women were a majority in the row of eligible voters who can make great difference over election results urging them to be committed to the course by massively mobilising .
The duo urged the APC women top notch to rally more support and should create more awareness for electorates to shine their eyes for APC candidates so they can reap the dividends of democracy at victory .
