APC committee lauds Kebbi guber aspirants for sportsmanship

 

The Kebbi All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries committee has lauded the state aspirants for display of sportsmanship spirit at the primaries.

Alhaji Idris Yakubu, the Chairman of the committee said this when he spoke with newsmen in Birnin Kebbi.

” I urge other states to emulate this sportsmanship spirit to strengthen Nigeria’s democracy.

“I saw the three aspirants relating freely and peacefully with each other and all of them were there for most of the period of voting.

“Election went on smoothly, there was no intimidation, no harassment and there was much respect for each other and that’s the maturity built in Kebbi I am proud of.

“I know some states where a governorship aspirant who was not favoured by those in power cannot even go near the venue of the convention, so, I think it’s a positive sign here in Kebbi,” he said.

He expressed satisfaction with the election saying it was rancour-free, while attributing the development to Gov. Abubakar Bagudu.

“I must therefore, commend the good spirit of the aspirants; Sen. Dr Yahaya Abdullahi, who is the Senate Leader, Alhaji Abubakar Mallam, Shatiman Gwandu and Dr Nasiru Idris, Kauran Gwandu,” he said.

Reports has it  that Dr Nasir Idris was declared winner of the APC governorship primaries with 1,055 votes.

Abubakar Mallam came second with 35 votes, while Dr Yahaya Abdullahi placed third with zero vote.
