Zamfara chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Women Professional Council had declared support to the APC Presidential Candidate, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bello Muhammed MON Matawallen Maradun for his second term bid as well as all APC candidates in the 2023 general elections.
The State Coordinator of the Group, Dr Barira Ibrahim Bagobiri made the declaration in Gusau on Friday while addressing large crowd of APC women groups.
The event with a theme:” Tidying up and Sweeping of Zamfara State from top to bottom”. was organized by the state chapter of the council to declare its support for Tinubu-Matawalle’s candidates as well as all APC candidates in the state.
Thousands of APC women groups attended the rally for the event which started from Women Center to Government House Gusau.
During the event, there were disbursement of cash and clothes to thousands women who participated the rally.
Dr Barira noted that it has been our old long tradition when it comes to politics women play a vital role in voting exercise since the return of democracy in 1999.
“We are known to be fully proactive and politically sensitive when it comes to voting for candidates’ right from the Council wards to the Federal levels.
“All women in the state agree that, in 2023 we are are going deliver similar gesture to APC as we delivered 1999, 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019.
“The theme; Sweeping of Zamfara from top to bottom is just a reminder of the desired expectations from all of us women in Zamfara as we draw nearer to 2023 general elections”, She added.
“To sweep here means to ensure that we vote for all our candidates from top to bottom”
“For our great party the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the forth coming general election of 2023, no seat should be left to the opposition parties.
“You know our brooms symbolize sweeping away the political dirt within our environments, our physical strength connotes our willingness to participate in the electoral system which will see to the fact that no any other party overtakes ours.”, Dr Barira Bagobiri added.
“As State Coordinator I am happy to inform you that it is our collective responsibilities to mobilize and ensure that all women in our localities votes for all APC candidates.
“This is the position of our national office in collaboration with our APC Governors, stakeholders and our teeming supporters.
“I am indeed delighted with your show of love and concern for our party and its victory comes 2023 Insha Allah”, she explained.
“I am using this medium to commended party leader of the state, His Excellency, Governor Bello Matawalle for appointing his kind gesture to the activities of the council in Zamfara.
“On behalf of the APC Women Professional Council, Zamfara Chapter, we also appreciate His Excellency for considering women in appointing them in to various positions under his administration”, she added.
Dr Barira Bagobiri also appreciated Zamfara First Lady, Her Excellency, Hajiya Aisha Bello Muhammed for uplifting lives of women in the state.
According to her, thousands of women beneficiaries in Zamfara benefitted from Excellency’s Empowerment Programme under which 1800 women received monthly financial support of N20,000 each.
“We are all aware of Mama Kit Health Care Support Projects if Her Excellency for pregnant women”, she explained
