Sokoto: PDP guber candidate, Ubandoma focuses on policy engagement and economic development

Approaching his last leg of electioneering campaigns window ahead of Saturday’s guber election, Malam Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, Sokoto state PDP governorship candidate on Monday said his administration will focus more on policy engagement drive to sustain positive development agenda of his predecessor if voted into office.
” Democracy is said to be a government of the people, for the people and by the people,  hence engaging and carrying every one along”
He said a responsive mechanism to ensure proper engagement through consultations with the people of  the state would be facilitated to attain the best and timely policy  for development.
Similarly, the governorship candidate said he would be purposeful by discouraging over reliance on federal allocation , hence invest heavily in the PPP economic drive to brace the state quest for rapid transformation.
Ubandoma spoke while interacting with reporters in Sokoto as he sought supporters and electorates to peacefully turnout enmasse and cast their votes for him and other PDP candidates.
According to him, ” our doors would be open to wide consultations as being done by Tambuwal over the years.
” We don’t want to be seen as  conservative state operating in isolation “, he said.
This, he said would enable the government to build a base for prosperous economic horizon through promoting investments for sustainable revenue generation , employment opportunities for youths for enhanced productivity .
According to the domain immediate past SSG , ” by opening the state economic horizon, it will positively strengthen and induce value chain in the investment space where more suppliers and distributors as well off-takers will assist in the marketing process of goods and services “, he added.
Hitherto, Ubandoma said the approach would also enable the state government domesticate and divest opportunities for both local and outside investors to participate in actualising the dream of the state becoming a nerve and hub for industrialisation and commercial activities.
” We will ensure standards in the principles of transparency, accountability and fairness in governance with even consideration for the people of the state “, Ubandoma assured with confidence that he will be victorious.
