Sokoto state Governor , Dr Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto says his administration will be focused and results oriented towards providing good governance.
Aliyu Sokoto made the remark Thursday in Sokoto while receiving the state APC top stakeholders on a courtesy visit led by the state Chairman , Alhaji Sadik Isah Achida.
According to him ” we are elected to strive to be role models for development towards the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the state.”
He however, stressed that his government will remain a listening government for the realisation of its dream based on the 9-points smart agenda outline for the benefit of Sokoto people.
While noting that the success of the party at the polls has remarkably made history and carved a new path in the political landscape of the state , acknowledging that it was the collective support, unity, hard work and loyalty of party members and resilience of Sokoto people.
The Governor hailed the leadership of Isah Achida whom he noted for his trust, patience and loyalty throughout the journey.
Earlier, Isah Achida who congratulated the governor for successfully assuming office with seriousness to reverse the woes of the immediate past administration of Aminu Tambuwal, told the Governor that the party deliberately delayed the visit inorder to allow space for the governor to positively take direction and steps to swing into action.
The party Chairman further reflected on the struggles the party went through especially against some alleged unpatriotic elements bent on threatening it’s unity saying ” We are not unaware of the extent of damage the entire state suffered under the Tambuwal government.
” Thank God we also emerged victorious all through the legal battle against them.”
Achida noted that the initial steps and actions taken by the governor on assumption were positive towards inspiring the confidence of Sokoto people.
” You are a worthy ambassador as you actions reflect your sincerity of purpose towards driving positive changes for the state.
” We are also aware of the positive plans you have for the party to keep waxing stronger and stronger. The party members and supporters will also continue to remain loyal to and focused for the new government for the socio-economic development of the state while we shall work hard towards renewing your mandate come 2027″, he remarked.
