Communities in Kafur Local Government of Katsina State have expressed their appreciation on kind gesture of Governor Dikko Radda for distributing food items and cash assistance to vulnerable groups in the area and other areas in the state.
Alhaji Wada Ibrahim, 70, an elderly person who is a Person with Disability (PwD), from Sabuwar Kasa Ward and one of the beneficiaries of the gesture made the commendations immediately after receiving 25 KG bag of rice and a token of N5,000 offered to him by the state government, Saturday.
Recall that Governor Dikko Radda supplied 1,000 vulnerable women and elderly persons with a 25kg bag of rice and a cash token of N5,000 each.
The distribution ceremony of the palliative was conducted in Kafur LGA Secretariat on Saturday, April 6 led by Honourable Bello Kagara, the State’s Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning.
Other members of the Distribution Committee, were the Chairman of Kafur Local Government Council, Alhaji Garba Kanya, Alhaji Umar Ismaili Rugoji, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport; Alhaji Sabi’u Sa’idu Mahuta, an Executive Director with AA Rano Oil and Gas, and the Kafur Local Government Council leader.
Another beneficiaries, who is a visually impaired and hard to hear Hajiya Wada, from Gozaki Ward, prayed for Allah’s blessings on Gov Radda, and said she is looking forward to his second term in office. She pleaded with Gov Radda, to make the exercise a continuous one especially to her category of citizens because of their peculiarity.
Commenting shortly after the distribution exercise, Chairman of the Distribution Committee and Commissioner for Budget, Economic Planning, Hon. Bello Kagara, expressed appreciation for successfully carrying out the exercise with 100 per cent attendance.
All beneficiaries were given their items directly by the committee, who were majority women and the elderly.
“We are grateful to God, the people that turn-out and conducted themselves in an orderly manner. Those that assisted the Distribution Committee during the exercise did creditably well, as well as the security operatives who were professional in their conduct, controlling the traffic, we are highly grateful to them all.
“And most importantly, our gratitude goes to His Excellency, Dr. Dikko Radda, through whom this palliative distribution in different forms were made possible. We are highly appreciative and we will continue to pray for him for more successes,” the Commissioner said.
