KASUPDA Organizes Stakeholders Engagement Programme

Community in the approved regularization layouts areas in Kaduna Metropolis have been advised to co- operate with the Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA), for successful implementation of government policies and initiatives.
In a statement Signed by Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka (Assistant Director Public Affairs Unit) KASUPDA, made available to newsmen revealed that.
Commissioner of Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abdullahi Shagali gave the advice during a stakeholders engagement programme organized by KASUPDA to enlighten the community of Unguwan Maigero phase1, regularization area.
Hon. Abdullahi Shagali who was represented by the Director Urban Planning in the Ministry, Mal. Shehu Usman whose message was delivered by Assistant Director in the Ministry, TPL. Gimba Ishiaku explained that such layout areas approved for the regularization required some infrastructures including roads, schools, hospitals, market, electricity and water to cater the need of the present and future generations.
The Commissioner therefore asked the affected communities to cooperate with the state government gesture by avoiding additional structures without obtaining permission from the relevant Authorities.
The Director General of the Authority, Mal. Isma’il Umaru Dikko represented by the Director Development Permission, TPL.Bello said approval for theregularization was part of the state
government commitment to addressing the challenges of encroaching government’s land.
Mal. Isma’il Dikko therefore called on the residents to always obtain permission before developing any land so as to avoid penalties and other consequences.
He pledged the commitment of KASUPDA for issuing with provisional permit to those made full payment to enable them further or commence their developments even before obtaining certificate of occupancy
from KADGIS.
Head of regularization Unit of KASUPDA TPL. Nasir Bello said in view of the economic hardship in the country, KASUPDA has proposed to the government a reviewed penalty rates of N100,000 and N150,000 for residential bungalow and dupkex respectively which if approved full payment within a window period of three months will be given by KASUPDA. He then listed a total of 19 areas approved layouts for the regularization which include :
 NITR(U/Rimi), NAFDAC(Narayi), Chanchangi(Sabon Tasha), Oil village
( Mahuta), Danbushiya ,Sabon Gida, Gidan Daji, and Danhonu1, all in Millennium City).
Others are U/ Maigero phase1 ( kamozou), Stellon(Sabon Tasha), NITEL ( Television), Babban Saura (kamazou), Chanchangi ( kinkinau), Maigero 2 ( Kamazou), Buwaya ( Gonin Gora), Gbagyi Villa, Tsohon
kamazou, kamazou and Sterlin (Mando) respectively, while waiting for more areas to be approved.
Head of Land and Abode Consulting Limited, TPL Omolara Mathew pledged commitment towards guiding the developers accordingly to ensure full compliance.
TPL Omolara solicited for the continue cooperation of the community towards achieving the regularization programme.
Responding on behalf of Unguwan Maigero phase 1, community chairman of the community, Engr Gbokis Luckly Jatau described high penalty fees by both KASUPDA and KADGIS as the major reasons for low respond to process their planning approval noting that majority of them are retired civil servants.
The Chairman assured that if the new rates of penalty is approved there will be massive support of developers.
He therefore appreciated Governor Malam Uba Sani for bringing governmence with human face to the people and assumed full support of the community.
The programme featured interactive session, comments, questions and answers on regularizattion,
processing of buildings permission, penalty fees among others.
