Governor Mal. Uba Sani has approved on the reduction of penalty fees payable to Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority(KASUPDA) for the approved regularization areas in Kaduna Metropolis.
This was made known by the Director General of the Authority, Mal. Isma’il Umaru Dikko during a stakeholders engagement programme held with the community of Kinkinau area.
Th Director General who was represented by the Assistant Director in KASUPDA, TPL. Evelyn Yusuf said in view of the socio-economic hardship in the country, KASUPDA made a proposal for the reduction of penalty charges in which the Governor approved.
In a statement Signed by Nuhu Garba Dan’ayamaka (Assistant Director Public Affairs Unit), KASUPDA made available to news men revealed that
He further explained that, penalty fees for residential bungalow and deplex of N1,000,000 and that of N1,500,000 now approved to pay N100,000 and N150,000 which to be pay within three months.
The DG called on all those issued with mails for making payment and those that are yet to make submission should use the window given while the approved consultant in the area will be there, for all necessary guide and assistance.
Head of Land and Abode Consulting Limited and Initiator of the programme, TPL. Omolara Methew explained that the regularization areas are organic settlement lacking approval from the government.
Consultant Omolara stressed the need for all approved regularized areas to submit the relevant documents for their buildings permits from the designated Authority.
She noted that, in line with the discussion held beween them and leaders of the community, Land and Abode Consulting liased with KASUPDA on their behalf to extent the reduction in the substantial penalty fees, in which the DG presented their case to His excellency, seeking approval for the reduction, while the Governor willingly approved.
The Initiator therefore solicited for the continue co-operation of the community towards integrating the areas into planning goals.
In his remark, Sarkin Kinkinau Ahmad Abdullahi Bamalli called on his people to followed the rules and regulations guiding the implimentation of land.
The traditional leader commended Governor Mal. Uba Sani for bringing governmence with human face to the people and as well appreciated his consideration on the discount.
In his respond, Chairman of the community, Sheik Tahir Rahama expressed their appreciation on the Governor’s gesture.
He pledged to continue given their full support and co-operation for achieving the desire objectives.
The programme featured interactive session where comments, questions and answers on regularization, proceses of buildings permission, penalty fees issue and among others were fully discussed and addressed.
