OCP AFRICA MEETS GOV DIKKO TO INVEST AND EXPAND OPERATIONS IN KATSINA STATE

A delegation from OCP Africa, a subsidiary of the OCP Group, Morocco, led by Mr. Akintunde Akinwande, Head of Digital, Africa, met with the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD, CON to explore areas of collaboration with the State Government to transform agriculture in Katsina.
In a statement Signed byIbrahim Kaula Mohammed Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Katsina State made available to news men revealed that
OCP Africa is a leading provider globally of phosphate and its derivative products boasting almost 100 years of experience.
The subsidiary was established in 2016 to contribute to the sustainable development of African agriculture.
Various areas of collaboration were discussed with the delegation from OCP Africa, including the Agribooster scheme, OCP Farm and Fortune Hubs, OCP School Lab project, the More Food Initiative, OCP commercial farm partnership, technical assistance to revive all the moribund state-owned fertilizer blending plants across the state, the set up of a soil nutrient map for Katsina State, and the Udongo digital solution for increased reach, linkage, and growth in the agriculture sector.
It was agreed upon by both parties that a subsequent MoU signing will follow to formally establish a working relationship and to identify key areas of collaboration that will be tabled for immediate execution. The Governor directed the Hon. Commissioner of Agriculture and Livestock Development and the Chief Economic Adviser to Katsina State Government to ensure the commencement of the aforementioned projects take off immediately.
