As Eid-Prayer during Sallah is fast approaching, in less than 24 hours, governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has reiterated the necessity for all Muslims attending prayer grounds across the state to make sure that they obey all protocols provided by health workers.
“While social distancing is absolutely necessary, face masks and hand washing with soap around the designed places for the Eid-Fitr prayer, among other protocols must also be observed strictly,” he reminded.
Government sends Commissioners, Advisers, Special Assistants to the Governor, heads of government agencies among other government functionaries to different locations where Eid Prayer would be held across all the 44 local governments, to ensure compliance with the protocols.
“As counselled by congregation of our learned Islamic scholars, alongside Imams, it is advised that, short Sermons are to be read during this Eid-Prayer because of the COVID-19 challenges we are being faced with,” he reveals.
He concluded that, people should pray for the state and the country in general seeking Allah’s Divine help while keeping to medical advise provided by health experts, adding that, “People should quickly disperse to their homes immediately after the Prayer and continue to observe all the protocols.” Says Ganduje.
