Lawmaker sets up N 120m Foundation for constituents in Sokoto

A Member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, representing Sabon Birni North Constituency on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP), Alhaji Aminu Boza Sabon Birni, has set up a N120 million Foundation.
The money is being used for the execution of various developmental projects, as well as assistance to his Indigent constituents.
Boza told Newsmen in Sokoto on Wednesday that, the money was specifically set aside for this four-year term, ranging from 11th June, 2019, to 11th June, 2023.
The Lawmaker explained that, the foundation was being funded by him, using his personal resources.
Boza stated that, over N 60milion had so far been spent under the foundation fr 11thJune, 2019 ,to date.
His words :” As at now, I have over N 60millon in the foundation’s account, from now, to 11th June 2023,In Sha Allahu.”
Boza enumerated some of the projects to include the rehabilitation of fourty nine boreholes , as well as the sinking of six new ones in Sabon Birni town, Dantudu, ‘ Yar Bulutu, Tsamaye, Katsira and Makuwana, among others.
He explained that, so far, over N 6.4million was spent in this direction,in the bid to tackle water scarcity in the Constituency.
On health, the Lawmaker disclosed that, he gives out N 1million monthly for the treatment of Indigent patients, in hospitals across his Constituency, including surgeries.
Similarly, Boza stated :” Every Ramadan, I set aside N 15million for assistance to orphans, in terms of the provision of clothing materials and assorted food items.
” I have already bought the materials for the forthcoming Ramadan and I have instructed my family to distribute them to the orphans, even if I die before then.”
In the same vein, the lawmaker disclosed that,he had donated N 4million to twenty three unemployed youths, to enable them start new businesses, with each other getting between N 30,000 to N 500,000.
Boza added that, no fewer than thirty students of tertiary educational institutions in Sokoto metropolis had their registration/tuition fees paid .
In the same vein, the MP explained that, he had spent N 9million in the building of nine five daily prayers Mosques in Tambarawa and Tudun Wada, among others,while three new Islmiyya schools were being constructed with N 12million.
According to Boza, he had moved some motions which resulted in the rehabilitation of two key roads by the state government and the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency ( FERMA).
” The state government had rehabilitated the 4kms Yar Bulutu to Makuwana to Alkalawa road, while FERMA had rehabilitated the 3.5kms Yar Bulutu to Tafkin Kanu to Alkalawa road, ” he said.
He also said that, sequel to some motions he moved, the state government had rehabilitated thirty nine primary schools, while ten new ones were established.
Boza stated:” I am also setting aside N 500,000, from my monthly allowances, as well as giving out a certain percentage from the sale of each car from my company .
” I am doing all these to further alleviate the suffering of my constituents, as this is the essence of us being more privileged among the people .”
