The Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Media Team has rounded up its assessment tour across 12 local government areas of Daura Senatorial District.
The Team visited 36 Primary Healthcare Clinics 3 in each of the 12 LGAs already selected for renovation, rehabilitation, construction of three staff quarters and wall fencing with barbed wire each as well as provision of Borehole, and Solar Powered Security Lights.
At all the clinics so far visited, the Team observed that the renovation and rehabilitation work had been completed and provided with hospital Equipments, Borehole and Solar Powered Security Lights.
On the construction of Staff Quarters, had been completed, while others were in completion stages except the three Clinics in Daura LGA that suffered neglect from the Contractor handling the construction work.
At Mazoji PHC, only blocks and DBC were physical on ground at the site, while at Suduje PHC, the Contractor handling the construction work reached only 30% of the worl done and that of Dannakola PHC, even clearing the site for the construction of the Staff Quarters has not been done.
Chairman of Daura LGA Alhaji Bala Musa in an interview said actually the dely of constructing the Staff Quarters for the three Clinics was unfortunate, urging the Contractor to make a haste, as the delay from his side would undoubtedly affect the remodelling project of the Clinics..
The leader of the Team who is also the Director of Works of the Ministry Engineer Umar Faruk Abdullahi expressed displeaure and planned to invite the affected Conractors to the Ministry for discussions.
In a separate interview with Chairmen of the 12 local councils, they thanked the state Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda and the Ministry for the concern shown on improving the health sector at the grassroot by approving the remodeling of three Clinics in each LGA and upgrade of some CHCs to General Hospitals across the District.
The benefitting communities also expressed appreciation to the current administration for reviving the status of LGAs, claiming that Radda administration has became unique in terms of rural development.
