Tambuwal,Dan Iya, cast votes, laud peaceful conduct of LGs polls

Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State and his Deputy, Alhaji Muhammadu Mannir Dan Iya,have lauded the peaceful conduct of today’s Local Governments Elections, conducted by the State Independent Electoral Commission ( SIEC).
Tambuwal, who spoke shortly after casting his vote at the JNI Primary School, Kofar Ajiya Polling Unit, Tambuwal town, said that, the high voter turn out was commendable .
According to the Sokoto State Governor, the polls were also conducted peacefully across the state.
Tambuwal noted that , Sokoto remained one of the few states that had conducted two local governments elections, from 2015 to date .
In a related development, his Deputy, Alhaji Muhammadu Mannir Dan Iya,has lauded the seamless and peaceful conduct of the polls across the 23 Local Governments of the state .
Dan Iya spoke shortly after casting his vote at his Sangale “A” Polling Unit, Sarkin Yamma Primary School, Kware town.
He lauded SIEC for the timely distribution of adequate voting materials across the state .
Meanwhile , the State Police Command has said that, the polls were going on peacefully , with no any reported security breaches, as declared by its Spokesperson, ASP Sanusi Abubakar.
Counting was already going on across the 23 local governments, while 23 Local Governments Chairmen and 244 Councillors are expected to emerge at the end of the elections.
Nine Political Parties, including the ruling PDP were participating in the Elections, while the main opposition party in the state, APC, boycotted the polls .
